This Privacy Policy explains how WolfLoop Technology ("WolfLoop", "we", "us") handles information in connection with GW Cadet, a Google Sheets add-on for Google Workspace administrators (the "Add-on"), and its website, gwcadet.com.
Summary
- The Add-on works entirely inside Google: it reads and changes your Google Workspace directory through Google's APIs and shows the results in your own Google Sheet.
- We do not run a server for the Add-on. Your Google Workspace data is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models.
Who uses the Add-on
The Add-on is installed and run by administrators of a Google Workspace organization (for example, a school or business) to manage that organization's accounts. The organization decides which data is managed and why, and it remains responsible for that data. For data about the people in its directory, the organization is the controller. The Add-on is a tool the organization's administrator operates.
What the Add-on accesses
When an administrator runs the Add-on, it uses the permissions the administrator grants on Google's consent screen to access the following through Google's Admin SDK, Licensing, Groups Settings and Sheets APIs:
- Users: names, email addresses, organizational unit, status (for example, suspended or admin), and other directory profile fields the administrator chooses to view or change. When the administrator resets a password, the new password is set too.
- Custom user fields: the organization's own directory fields (for example, an Employee ID) and their values.
- Groups: group names, descriptions, members and their roles, and group settings (for example, who can post or join).
- Organizational units: the organization's unit structure.
- ChromeOS devices: device records such as serial number, model, status, assigned user and organizational unit.
- Calendar resources: meeting rooms and equipment, with their buildings and floors.
- Licenses: which Google product licenses each account holds.
- Audit reports (read-only): recent activity records the administrator chooses to view, for example sign-in events. These can include the time, the account, the event type and the IP address of the activity.
- The open spreadsheet only: the single Google Sheet the Add-on is open in, where it writes results and reads the changes the administrator types. It cannot open any other file in Google Drive.
The Add-on does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive files or Calendar events.
How the data is used
Data is used only to:
- show it to the administrator in their own Google Sheet; and
- make the changes the administrator explicitly asks for, such as suspending a user, creating a group or assigning a license. Each change is confirmed by the administrator before it runs.
The Add-on does nothing on its own. It acts only when an administrator runs a command.
Where data is stored
- In your spreadsheet: everything the Add-on lists, and the result of every change, is written into the administrator's own Google Sheet. That can include temporary passwords the administrator generated. The sheet belongs to your organization and is stored by Google under your organization's Google Workspace agreement. You control who can see it, how long it is kept and when it is deleted.
- A usage counter: the Add-on may keep a small counter of how many changes have been made with it, used for the free-trial limit. It holds only a number. It is stored by Google Apps Script with the administrator's Google account and is never sent to us.
- Error diagnostics: if the Add-on hits an unexpected error, Google Apps Script records the error message in our Google Cloud project's logs so we can fix the problem. An error message can occasionally include an identifier, such as the email address involved in the failed operation. These logs are kept by Google Cloud Logging for up to 30 days, and only WolfLoop's developers can read them. They are used for nothing else.
We do not keep any other copy of your data.
This website and the waitlist
- The website: gwcadet.com is a static website hosted by GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. As the host, GitHub may log technical information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site, under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- The waitlist: if you join the waitlist, we collect only the email address you enter. It is kept in WolfLoop's own Google Workspace account, either in a Google Form and Sheet or in our admin@gwcadet.com mailbox. We use it only to tell you when GW Cadet is ready to install and to send major launch news, and we never sell or share it. To leave the list or have your address deleted, email admin@gwcadet.com.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your Google user data with anyone. We do not transfer it to third parties. We do not use it for advertising, for creditworthiness or lending decisions, or to develop, improve or train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. No person at WolfLoop reads your data, except in two cases:
- when you ask us for support and give us permission; or
- when needed for security purposes or to comply with the law.
Google API Services: Limited Use
GW Cadet's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security
All communication between the Add-on and Google's APIs is encrypted and runs on Google's infrastructure. Google's Admin SDK itself enforces administrator permissions, so the Add-on can only do what the signed-in administrator is allowed to do in the Google Admin console.
Students and children
The Add-on is used by administrators, not by children. Some organizations, such as schools, may manage student accounts with it. In that case the school controls that information and decides how it is used, under the laws that apply to it. We do not collect any information from or about students.
Your choices and rights
- Revoke access: remove the Add-on's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. A Google Workspace administrator can also uninstall the Add-on or block it for the whole organization.
- Delete data: delete the spreadsheet, or the rows you no longer need. To have the usage counter cleared, contact us.
- Questions or requests: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. We hold none of your directory data, so most requests should go to your organization's administrator. For anything about the error logs above, or any other privacy question, contact us at the address below.
International use
The Add-on can be used anywhere Google Workspace is available. Your data is processed by Google on its infrastructure, under your organization's agreement with Google. WolfLoop does not move it anywhere else.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the Add-on handles data, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. If the change is material, we will give notice in the Add-on or on our website.
